Officers sit in the parking lot of Preston’s Steakhouse while another officer, not in uniform, waves people into the parking lot; at first, you see the ununiformed person (usually a female) standing just off the curb waving, and you think something is wrong; then, you see a uniformed officer pointing the radar gun at you. This is an area where the speed limit is quickly reduced from 40 mph to 30 mph and not well marked. Downtown Naples.

Airport-Pulling Road near Vanderbilt-Beach Road
Deputies with radar are posted between Immokalee Road and just below Pelican Marsh and Victoria Park. When you drive near CVS drug store, a deputy walks out into traffic and pulls you over to CVS to say you were speeding. But he will say he’s giving you a break and only charge you with failure to obey a traffic control device. Most people don’t contest the charges and phone or mail in their pleas and fines, ranging anywhere from $115 for those who opt for defensive driving school to avoid points to those who pay $120.50 who don’t take the class or plead no contest in court. Don’t go to court without a lawyer because you will spend up to five hours waiting if you contest the charge.
