Pembroke Pines, Florida Speed Traps

Frequently in the mornings and mid-day there are groups of three or four police cars hiding behind some bushes on Taft Street near NW 92nd Avenue. They are fairly hidden from view and tend to park back from the street. The cops stand on the side of the road with their radar guns and appear to be strict on enforcing the 35mph speed limit along that street.

This trap is located in front of BJ’s Shopping plaza, as soon as you exit I-75 going east onto pines they are their waiting on you to be speeding. also if you are coming from west pines on the other side of the hill beware because they also like to target those people remember this is on the east side of I-75 in front of the Mercedes Dealership right befor 136th Avenue.

Motorcycle officer stations himself in the right of way directly in front of private houses on south side of Taft St., east of University. From this vantage, he is completely hidden among parked cars, trees, grass, sidewalk. Limit is 35 MPH, and there is no tolerance. The motorcycle officer often just shoots the radar and strings of multiple cars get pulled over into adjacent strip mall lot by a second officer who steps out into the street, with yet other patrol units actually writing the tickets up. Quite a little factory. With the explosive growth of this area, it is a rich feeding ground to enrich the city coffers, and yet I have never seen an accident along this location.

Eastbound Pines Bv, between University Drive & 72 ave. Usually two motorcycle Officers use Pines Recreation Center parking lot for pullovers. Can be any time from Mid-Day to PM Rush hour. Random dates and days. Matching West-bound located at 70th Avenue behind a hedge in the morning.

Alot of the time there are 2 cops in the center of the road in a very dark spot on sheridan street between Dykes rd. and the FAU annex and library. they wait there where there is no light so they can’t be seen usually after 10pm
