Pembroke Pines, Florida Speed Traps
Sheridan Street near University Drive
Radar for speed, and what is not exactly a speed trap, but still will get you pulled over and ticketed. If you’re traveling eastbound on Sheridan Street approching University drive, do not make a right turn (South) on red. I did and got pulled over, luckily I knew the guy, whew. There will be one Pembroke Pines officer in the grass on University drive on the south side just before the first strip plaza. He is there at least 3 times a week and on the weekends after lunch.
Johnson Street Street near Palm Avenue
Two Cops in motorcyles park on the median. Each one pointed to a different direction. there under the tree where the road curves so you can’t see them at all until its too late. i was behind a shuttle bus sped up to pass it and bam a ticket.
Johnson Street near Palm Avenue
On Johnson Road, West of Palm Ave. one or two officers park their cars facing West and catch drivers going East (coming from Hiatus Rd.) as soon as you get around the turn in the road. They are set up there mostly in the morning rush hour but sometimes in the early afternoon. The speed limit there is only 35, but most drivers are doing 45 or more. Beware!
Taft Street near Northwest 118th Avenue
They tend to setup on the southside of Taft and 118th where there is heavy brush and trees. They have motors and cars there targeting vehicles heading eastbound. Enforcement tends to get heavy during the school year. Since the setup is on a long curve which is how taft runs from Flamingo to Hiatus you will not see them until the last second.
Taft Street near Flamingo Road
This area of Taft is just East of Flamingo Road. Usually they set up on the north side of Taft Street (Pill Box Pharmacy Plaza). They have motorcycles and cars there but they park then and are able to hide in the bushes. They target vehicles heading westbound for the most part. They are set there almost every week.
