Plantation, Florida Speed Traps
W. Sunrise Blvd opposite Plantation Middle School
This is a 15 mph school zone and two Plantation motorcycle officers monitor traffic in both directions, eastbound and westbound. They use laser guns and pull drivers over, allegedly due to complaints about speeding during hours school zone speed limits are in effect.
SE Corner of Broward Blvd & University.
Motorcycle cops sit on the corner waiting for you to run the red light & they snag you!
North New River Canal Road
Between Pine Island Road and Mockingbird Lane, along canal side of road, well set back from edge of street, obscured by trees.
Police, usually on motorcycles, clock traffic going both ways with laser gun. Most common times seen are Monday thru Friday, before 9:00am and/or after 3:00pm.
Speed limit recently lowered to 25 MPH. Complaints of excessive speed made by area residents result in several days of strict enforcement.
NW 106th Avenue, south bound
Cop car parks in Fountain Spring community pool parking lot, and uses radar on cars traveling southbound on NW 106th. Cars coming off of Sunrise Blvd. into this development cannot see cop car behind the bushes. Speed limit is 30 mph.
I-75 Ghost Challenger Spotted
Saw one of Broward’s new GHOST Dodge Challengers in the southbound lane of I-75 just south of Sunrise blvd around 8am. It’s an unmarked car with no cop-lights. The only way you can spot it is by the lettering on the door.
