Sanford, Florida Speed Traps
St Johns Pkwy. near Tech Dr.
On St. Johns Pkwy just before Tech Dr. Heading toward Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. On the right side of the road tuck back behind 2 blue mail boxes. Normally 1 to 2 offices at one time. Between 10 am. to 2 pm.
46 Stratford Point Apartments
They back into parking spaces by the entrance in front of the office and sit. You can’t see them because they are blocked by the concrete entrance walls. Sometimes several will be parked there meeting up before going onto 46. They also cruise the parking lots running tags all night at the apartment complexes in the area just a fyi.
WP Ball Blvd. & Rinehart Rd.
Seminole Mall complex (near Target). This trap is set up on WP Ball near the Rienhart Rd. end. Two local officers using LASER aimed at EB traffic. I have seen them on 2 different Tuesdays before 1 PM. There is a small sign in the nearby parking lot, where victims are directed to be ticketed, which indicates that it is a joint venture with the Sanford police department and local business establishements.
Rinehart Rd and WP Ball Blvd.
No left turn into the parking lot of the strip mall there even though there is no barrier to deter it. A police officer is waiting for people to do this so he can ticket them. He admitted that this was a ‘problematic’ area.
Wilson Road (between International Pkwy & Orange Blvd)
Speed limit on International Parkway and Orange Boulevard is 45 mph, but drops to 25 on Wilson Road. Wilson Road is mainly residential but there is an elementary school at the Orange Blvd intersection. Cruisers usually sit and clock cars from this the school parking lot or park way out of sight on Pacific Ave (small cross street on Wilson) and the cop, on foot, clocks car from this intersection. Usually present towards the end of the month.
