Abbeville, Georgia Speed Traps

Be careful of your speed in this area, especially around the schools!

I’ve been nabbed here. They sit at the bottom of the hill in an abandoned driveway; watch out.

Got a ticket here this week – and saw a total of 4 deputies in this county working speed traps on this section of I-95. Obviously quite a source of revenue for the county.

I-95 is heavly patrolled for drug smuggling, hence the heavy law enforcement. Camden County pays for its law enforcement through seized drug funds. There’s a good chance of being searched for the slightest of reasons.

I have been ticketed between mile marker 30 and 31 by the GSP. Local law enforcement must be visible from at least 500 ft., but the GSP can hide in bushes. It does not matter at night because they have the cover of darkness. This is when there are going to be the most speed traps. They are not seen until it is too late.
