Atlanta, Georgia Speed Traps
Pulliam Street & Memorial Drive (entrance ramp to 75/85S)
Ga. State Patrol and/or State Capitol Police sit in front of the Board of Regents building @ 210 Washington just at the entrance ramp to 75/85S. They will park in a parking space, or if no empty spaces, will pull just in front of the last spot right on the corner at the light before you cross over Memorial to get on the on-ramp to the downtown connector. This is a heavy traffic area at rush-hour as all the streets surrounding the capitol are 1-way and this is the main on ramp leaving town headed south down the connector.
75/85N @ University Ave.
Ga. State Patrol sits in emergency lane on the left hand side on 75/85N between University Ave. & Capitol St. checking for HOV lane violations. They sit in the same spot every morning just inside the curve as you leave University and approach Turner field. You can’t see them until you’re right up on them and they get someone every morning riding solo in the HOV lane. Traffic is extremely heavy & thick on the stretch of 75/85N between University and 10th/14th streets so there’s no way to get over into the regular lanes before you pass him.
Donald Lee Holloway (Bankhead) Parkway
Police officers sit in the parking lot of the Super Giant Foods. You do not notice him until its too late because of the curve. Speed Limit is 35 mph.
Access Road
This stretch of road is patrolled regularly; be careful here!
