Buford, Georgia Speed Traps

The police car is always located at 4485 Commerce Drive. The speed limit is 25 mph but the traffic speed is about 50 mph. Buford makes allot of $$$ on this one!

Cops will sit on Buford Dam Road at bottom of grade just past Jimmy Dodd Road and before the water treatment plant, especially at the end of the month. You don’t see them until you are upon them and even just coasting down the grade you can’t get slow enough. Speed limit is 45 but you would have to ride your brakes to keep it under 45 on most of the road.

Shortly past the Mall of Georgia, on the other side of the I-85 overpass there is an empty area of land. Speedtrap is right at the inbank, which is shortly before the QT gas station where the speed limit becomes 50mph. (There is an unposted 45mph speed limit on 20 by the Mall.) Cops catch a lot of people who don’t know the unposted speed limit!

The cop sits no less than 500 feet from the walgreens and old peachtree and scans traffic going towards buford from lawrenceville on Highway 20. He claims he has written over 60 tickets in that spot.

Sitting right under the bridge for 85 on Interstate 20, near the Mall of Ga. Usually at night, but I’ve seen them there at other times too. They clock both directions from the median. And at times there will only be one cop in the median, hiding behind the cement barrier and the other cops will be sitting about 1/4 mile up. Posted speed limit is 50 mph. I think they let you get away with 55-58. And 59-65 is pushing it.
