Buford, Georgia Speed Traps

Hall County and GSP sometimes sit unde the overpass at exit 8. This was a construction zone until about a month ago. Police here are pretty leniant. I’ve passed these cops at close to 85. They are only looking for the people going faster than the flow. ie: someone going 105 when everyone else is going 90. Also Gwinnet police sometimes sit in Median of I-985 right before the Hall County line. Once again, they are looking for the fastest.. The posted limit at both of these points where these three departments sit is 70.

You will often find police cars parked in left turn lanes, on grass, with lights off waiting to catch speeders. Radar detectors will not work in this area. The units will not activate radar untill you have almost reached within 50 feet of the police car. Just stay under posted speed limit.
