Cordele, Georgia Speed Traps

Three weeks ago we were traveling to Florida and had pulled off for lunch. We had no sooner gotten back on the Hwy and there was a blue light behind me.
Actually there were blue lights up and down the highway. Must have been
8-10 of them. Not pulling over any trucks, just passenger cars. Officer said he was giving me a ticket for 66 in a work zone(60). After we drove away we realized it was for 76. Too late. It was a real gotcha. I didn’t have my reading glasses on when I signed for it. It’s definitely a speed trap!

All the rural counties on I 75 are speed traps. Definately from Crisp County to the Florida line. please do not stop and spend your money on anything in Crisp,Turner,Tift or Cook counties. They are all using 75 as a revenue generator. The local governments encourages this activity.

City of Cordele works both N and S on I75 with laser. One car supposedly records you with laser and there is a chase car approximately 1/2 mile further along. This is worked consistently in a construction zone posted at 60 MPH and is strictly enforced. My radar detector with laser never activated and my onboard GPS indicated 70 MPH. They cited for 11 MPH above the indicated.

Police sit in vacant lot between Subway and NAPA Auto parts store. This is long stretch of street with no traffic lights. You do not see cops until you are right up on them.
