Decatur, Georgia Speed Traps

The speed limit here is very strictly enforced, especially at night. Be careful!

Police sit in the driveway of the Flat Shaols Parkway Library.

Trap is near where Covington Hwy turns into College Ave., as you approach the Clock tower and the commercial section of Avondale. Cops will either sit after the curve of the road and shoot backwards towards College or they will sit in the parking lot next to the Waffle House. The 2nd trap is the hardest to see. As you are heading towards College Ave and Decatur you round a cruve, then there are bushes. They sit in that darkened parking lot, lights off past the bushes!

The police officers park at the Elementary school which is in the valley of 2 steep hills. The view of cars parked in the lot is obscured by the school sign and it is very difficult to maintain the speed limit with the steepness of the hills. I haven’t gotten caught there, but I’ve seen it happen to others time and time again.

They hide between covington hwy exit and memorial drive exit on northboud I-285. They hide in the night with their lights off, how sneaky.
