SR 515

Jasper, GeorgiaAug 02, 20030 Comments

The Pickens Count Sheriff and the GSP work together and separately. GSP usually work in pairs and sometimes 3’s. One is usually clocking and the other two are pursuit vehicles. The speed limit on the ramainder of SR 515 in most places is 65 MPH, but there is a stretch from Hwy 108 to the second traffic signal northbound where it it 55MPH. I got busted for speeding and was clocked at 79 MPH. I admit I was speeding but wasn’t going that fast. My fine was moderate, in contrast to some I’ve heard of. I only had to pay $49.00 in US currency. "They don’t take checks!"
GSP got me and all three cars working the trap that day followed me and parked one behind the other with the "blue lights" flashing. Makes you feel like a "desperado." for sure.

Georgia State Patrol hides in the woods along the side of the road waiting for unsuspecting motorist. Speed limit is 55 mph, you will get stopped for 10 over. A ticket will definitely be given. Fines are 100-500 dollars. The troopers are ill and unforgiving. Do not say antyhing contrary to the troopers opinion. You will be cited for any and all violations. Troopers are known to drag you out of your car and give you a hell of an ass whooping if you talk back.
