Jefferson, Georgia Speed Traps
Old Pendergrass Road and Academy Church Road
When approaching Jefferson from the west on Old Pendergrass Road, which is quite rural, the speed limit drops from 55 to 45. Officer gave me a dirt road (yes, dirt) as a landmark for the change.
Old Pendergrass Rd
Speed limit on the entire road is now 35mph. Coming off the by-pass you don’t think about having to slow down to a crawl. Police sit with radar and make easy stops. Police don’t report tickets to state or insurance.
US-129 Bypass near State Highway 11
Continuation of Pendergrass speed trap, and include Arcade as well. All white Jefferson City (Jackson Co) police cars run radar in the median.
Brockton Road just before Jefferson Light
Just before Brockton Road dead ends into Curry creek in Jefferson at the 3 way light the road curves back and forth several times. The limit changes to 45 MPH then 35 MPH very quickly. The police hide in the crooks of the curves and before you know it your toast. The last 3 time I have take that way to Jefferson they have been there lurking.
State Highway 129 near Old Pedergass Road
The Jefferson Police parks a cruiser on the grass median during the day and this car is unmanned making drivers think is a radar trap!
