Kennesaw, Georgia Speed Traps

Along interstate 75 south at Wade Green Road just inside Cobb county. Cobb County Police use 4 to 10 patrol cars. 1 sits on an overpass just south of wade green (Shiloh Road) with radar. The others are parked along I75. The Patrolman on Shiloh road clocks the cars and radios to the other patrolmen on I75. This happens almost daily and at anytime. Be very careful Cobb County Police are hardnosed.

Traveling south on Chastain between Bells Ferry and Canton Road you’ll have 1/3 mile decline that allows you to coast well above the posted 45mph. Scooter Cop parks at the entrance of a subdivision nailing culprits as they pass the apex of the decline. Easy to do 60mph if you’re the lead car. Nailed me and another guy simultaneously while trying to be on time for work. Cop really knows his job!

Road has a steep incline with speed reduced from 40 to 35mph when road changes name as you cross Acworth Due West Road. There is a curve and incline, with officer with lights twinkling and flagging you over. Chatting with locals who said " Let me guess…Paul Samuel Road speed trap. The only way not to get a ticket is to ride the brake. Funny they do not shoot the radar the other way. Count On Being Busted is Cobb County for sure.

Be careful, although the intersection of the SB off-ramp is not clearly marked as left or right turn only, if you continue across to the on-ramp on the other side, you will get a ticket. 🙁 Do not go straight if you see an officer on the on ramp!

Motorcycle cops can frequently be seen congregated under the bridge just past Kennesaw State University between Chastain and Busbee. Under the bridge is dark and you can’t see these guys until it’s too late, they are usually preying on lunch time travelers several times a week. Look for 3 to 4 motorcylcles all together, they will step out and point at you then point at the side of the road… you’re busted.
