Kennesaw, Georgia Speed Traps
Main Street near Entrance to Adams Park
There are multiple cars and officers checking speed on the Northboud cars coming from downtown toward Jiles RD and the City of Acworth. They simply walked out and flagged down a motorist and sent them to the side to receive their citation. Looked like Laser to me.
Busbee Parkway near Dental Office
Cobb county police sit on the road next to the dental office (Busbee Dr). You do not see their police cars until you are past Busbee Dr. It is not uncommon to see two or even three police cars out there. I have heard of them pulling drivers over who are 5 mph over the 35MPH limit. They do this morning noon and night. They remind me of a line of taxi cabs the way they sit there on that road like that.
Barrett Lakes Boulevard near AJC Jobs on the right
Located going southbound, mid-day. Usually has a cop on a motorcycle north of trap, who feeds information to the southern cop.
State Route 293 also known as Old 41 near Watts Drive
Speed Limit is posted at 25 miles per hour. Kennesaw Police are consistently in the First Baptist Church Parking lot(or across the street in a small business parking lot) with a radar just waiting for speeders. If you go 25 miles per hour traffic backs up behind you.
State Highway 41 S near McCollum Airfeld
There is an abandoned turnoff at the bottom of the hill immediately following McCollum Airfield and the Industrial Park on the right hand side of the highway. Usually, two City of Kennesaw police officers will sit in this turnoff with their black patrol cars with no lights on rendering them invisible, and tag oncoming motorists coming down a steep grade, then send their partner to intercept you. The speed limit on this road is posted as 45mph, but traffic moves on average to 55-60mph. There is a traffic light at the top of the hill, and they generally target the vehicles leading the pack away from the green light…My advice? Don’t be the first car in line, if you are, be sure NOT to break away from the pack, and if at all possible, stay in the left lane and ride in someone’s blindspot until you clear this area. As with all speed traps, user awareness is key and it’s reccomended that you use your head and not rely on this source completely, they will move around to catch you off guard, so beware.
