overpass near Tifton

I was driving in the center lane going downhill at 80 mph. I did not brake because I was not approaching another car. I did not see the Tifton police officer on the overpass until I was directly under him. I thought there was no way he would pursue me for going 80 downhill. I was wrong. This aggressive monster endangered the lives of people on the overpass, the on-ramp, and cut off several cars to squeeze in behind me. He was extremely hyped up and told me I was going 88. This was a blatant lie. I looked at my speedometer the minute I saw him, and I was going 80. I gave him all my information, and this took over 20 minutes to write a ticket while I sat roasting in the car. Wins points with the backwoods town of Tifton for endangering the lives of countless people to make money for that failure of a town. Why didn’t he aim his laser at the left lane where cars were passing me? It seemed like he targeted me personally as a woman. He could care less about safety. I was driving very safely in the center lane. I exceeded the speed limit solely because I don’t brake on downhill slopes unless I am near another car. This is the first speeding ticket I’ve ever had in my life, so I have to get my DMV record and swear an affidavit to get my point across to this town and its cops.

On top of the bridge at exit 62

I have been traveling in So Ga on I-75 for 25+ years and the county and city have been sitting on top of that bridge for years. And making a fortune in fines. Speed traps like this, all along I-75 makes me a shame I live in Ga.
Boycott Ga and do not give them one Nickle of your money in sales.

Dooley County speed trap heaven!

One sits on overpass with laser gun then radios buddy waiting down the road for car to be pulled over. Ticket anything over 73mph (told by man with hat) and you may get caught. It doesn’t matter if it is 73 to 75 mph nothing given on any day. Any ticket over 70mph 245.00 please, and thank you come again. The boys with the hats give nothing. Work zone since 2010 still not finished to double you speed fine. Max fine for 73 mph in a 65 work zone——428.23 dollars told by a friend so please be careful people, this is crazy and they are waiting right at change of signs, no exceptions even if workers are not present.

Tifton Overpass

I received a ticket in tifton just before exit 61 overpass, the deputy from the Traffic Division stated i was going 88 on a 70 on I-75 I NEVER saw him until he crossed 3 lanes over to stop my vehicle..so after reading the other comments it looks like Tifton County Sheriff department has a bad PATTERN of doing such traps even on the holidays, and traffic was heavy on the 26 of December 2015. The cost of the ticket 245.00.

south on I75 exit 69 Tift County, Ga.

Tifton, GeorgiaOct 25, 20150 Comments

On afternoon of 9 Oct. 2015 traveling south on I75 I was pulled over by a Tift Count, Ga. deputy. I was told I was traveling 85 in a 70 mph zone. I was timed by a laser. A sheriff’s patrol car was sitting on the overpass running the laser. Another deputy was sitting on the on-ramp as chase car. This deputy is the one who wrote the ticket. He was alerted by the deputy running the laser as to my vehicles description. Georgia law requires city and county police vehicles to be visible at least 500 ft. at time of contact by laser and reading of speed. Because of the railing across bridge overpass and the slim line blue lights mounted on top of sheriffs vehicles the patrol cars are not visible for the required 500 ft. Therefore, this type activity must be considered illegal and designed to trap motorists, thus a “speed trap”.
Case law requires the deputy to swear to your speed. He can not do so legally because he did not see you or your vehicle “speeding”. Another deputy, not the writer, got the speed of the vehicle and relayed the speed to the chase car.
When questioned, the deputy said all the above had been tried in court and failed. He also said the Ga. Attorney General had come to Tifton, checked it all out and gave his approval. I checked the Attorney General’s web site and found no truth to this statement.
Oh, bye the way, I was speeding as charged. Just the first time ever!
