Watkinsville, Georgia Speed Traps
Hwy. 441 Bypass
State troopers commonly drive north and south on this stretch of Hwy. 441, especially during a.m. and p.m. rush hours. They like to sit either in the medium or on the east side of the road near the trees.
GA 316 (eastbound between Jimmy Daniel Road and Virgil Langford Road)
Cops like to sit on the shoulder of GA 316 eastbound just past the intersection with Jimmy Daniel Road. Sometimes they also sit in the gore where Virgil Langford Road intersects. The speed limit in this stretch lowers to 55, but this is understandable due to U.S. Route 78 adding traffic to this stretch of highway, as well as new commercial development as you approach the Athens Perimieter.
Highway 316, about 4 miles before the Athens exit
One of the "sleek" (no lights on top) cars parked on the median. It has no headlights to tip anyone off–for all intents and purposes it looks derelict until someone speeds by.
