W. Midland Avenue near Church Street

Winder, GeorgiaOct 10, 20070 Comments

On weekends especially, the police like to sit partially hidden off W. Midland in various spots and if someone is going 35 or 40 in the 25 MPH school zone, they will stop you and ticket you. No warnings. I have seen them stop many people on Saturday or Sunday morning, out doing their errands or going to church. It is better than it used to be when a certian policeman used to work for them who is no longer there. But, as I use W. Midland often, I watch my speed carefully, as it doesn’t take much at all to get a ticket.

Cops sit at both ends of this road in the church parking lot and in the Water Works driveway, often in pairs. The speed limit is 35 and then lowers to 25 just in front of the church.

The cops will sit off in a private drive at night with no lights on and hwy 211 is 55mph than drops down to 45, they actually clock you as you enter the 45 zone with no leeway to slow down. The 45 mph zone is for a trailer park community.

They sit at the old Air Conditioning building and wait for you to leave capital Ave. This is a large hill and they get you as you go down it.

Miles Patrick Road near Water treatment plant

Winder, GeorgiaDec 16, 20030 Comments

On Miles Patrick Rd. The Police set up at the entrance to the water plant and usually back in. They can clock you coming from both directions. It’s a pretty long road and is re-paved, you would think it’s 45 mph but it’s only 35 mph. Sometimes they have another Police car near by so they can get a speeder and the other one will continue to operate the laser or radar.
