Winder, Georgia Speed Traps
Speed goes down from 55 to 45 at the school area, about halfway between Highway 85 and Winder,. They have been working this for years!!!
Be careful and don’t drive over 25 mph, during school zone hours…. i think 7:15 to 8:45. There is usually 2 officers running radar up on the hill above the speed zone sign, or by the cemetery. It is not unusual to see them stop 3 or 4 cars in 30 min. My ticket was 300.00.
The police regularly sit behind the CVS & catch people speeding up to try and make the light. 35mph speed limit on that stretch. Also if you are going south on 81 & come through the light, watch your speed. I see them all the time pulling people over.
BCSO will sit in an old driveway on the left behind a big, low hanging tree on the long straight away leaving the new shopping center going to
There are several railroad tracks where you have to slow down or stop at a stop sign at Pearl Pentecost Rd. But if you increase your speed between railroad tracks, where the speed limit is 35, they are hidden somewhere and will stop you. They turn on the siren plus lights and you won’t know if they are going to an emergency or after you until they stop behind you. Several people have been stopped on this road.
