Berwyn, Illinois Speed Traps
Every month or so, police do seat belt checks at this intersection. Make sure you have yours on, or (if you have something moral against seat belts) take 22nd or 25th a couple of blocks to the side streets to cut through.
The police lay in wait on 15th, usually in front of the school to get offenders not stopping at the stop sign. Often a seat belt trap with officers by the stop sign, but also officers on foot down by 14th & by 16th Streets which then radio to the officers by the stop sign. Those offices escort offenders to in front of the school where they check for license & insurance before writing the ticket.
On many, but not all, weekend mornings, a cop with a radar gun will park in the lot by Jiffy Lube and nail speeders all morning long. The speed limit is 25 despite being a four-lane road.
Red light Camera. When stopping northbound on harlem at the ogden intersection red light camera will flash if you make a right turn onto ogden. there is no sign thats says no turn on red ,but I see that flash from the camera go off as soon as a vehicle crosses the white line .
The police sit there parked at the train station behind the station building where you can’t really see them at Harlem and Windsor (right by James Joyce tavern) and stop people for everything from seat belt usage to speeding.
