Carol Stream, Illinois Speed Traps

Although the light is red-light photo enforced, police still hide in the shadows of the Fanny Mae parking lot observing westbound traffic and cars as they are stopped at the light, or as they are turning right on Gary ave. Since the parking lot is on a bit of a rise, the police get a birds-eye view of the corner and of that intersection. I work very close to this corner and co-workers have told me about a myriad of citations they have received. Left-turns on yellow, right turns without stopping, seatbelt violation, improper lane changes, no front license plate, etc…

Be careful if you are driving west on 64 and are approaching this intersection.

Cop sits on Morton rd, just North of Birchbark, ticketing for not coming to a full stop. They are there usually when its dark. Doesn’t matter if your a resident, they write a ticket every time.

The police officer sits in a marked car behind the old Burlington Coat factory building (which is now unoccupied). You CAN’T see them until it’s too late. They are there periodically usually during mid-morning. The speed limit is 45 but people do 55-60.So slow down. Carol Stream is famous for DUI arrests and giving tickets. That’s how they have $ 60,000 Tahoe squad cars. They do not like to give warnings.

The Carol Stream Police in the entrance of the little strip mall with the Dunkin Dounuts uasully in the morning during the week. not to long ago they changed the speed limit from 45 to 40. Now people going 50 down Army Trail Rd. are getting tickets for doing 50 in a 40.

On Friday and Saturday nights periodicly the Carol Stream Police have a check point set up in the East bound lanes of Army Trail Rd. in front of the Lowes.
