Chicago Avenue near Calvary Cemetery
Patrol car is often concealed in the entrance driveway of Calvary Cemetery on the east side of Chicago Avenue between Howard and South Boulevard. Speed limit is 30 mph. Radar enforced. It’s a long stretch of wide open roadway, so 30 mph feels very slow.
Sheridan Road near Garrett Street
Police sit on Garrett Place right in front of the Seminary and gun the Northbound traffic in front of the University. If you get pulled over it is a guaranteed ticket.
Church Street near Dodge Avenue
The speed limit in the vicinity of Evanston Township High School is 20 MPH, and is routinely ignored by motorists. Enforcement is random. Usually just before and after school is in session.
Oakton Street near McCormick Boulevard
If you come into Evanston via McCormick Blvd. Then they usually hide amongst the buildings just east of McCormick on the left and right hand sides as you cross into Evanston. It’s a nice area to hide in and the new city wide speed limit in Evanston is 25MPH, so be careful
