Hawthorn Woods, Illinois Speed Traps
schwerman Rd at entrance to country club
Police sit in a area 2000 feet west of the entrance to the country club subdivision they might as well put up a mail box, Sundays and weekdays, this is not serving and protecting, they’re trying to justify their existence in a no crime area that does not need a police force like killdeer
Indian Creek Rd and Seneca west
1 mile east of gilmer on Indian Creek, sits over the hill
Midlothian Road near Gilmer Road
Patrol car sits in entrance to an Aquatic Center behind a berm. The berm makes the radar very difficult to detect until you are very close. The trap is between Gilmer and Old McHenry roads.
Gilmer Road near Indian Creek Road
About a one-mile stretch between Indian Creek Road to the north and N. Krueger Road to the south. Or, about a half mile each way from intersection of Darlington Road and Gilmer Road. Take your pick.
Gilmer Road near Hawthorn Lane
Gilmer Road is very hilly between Midlothian Road and Rt. 83. Oncoming police like to shoot moving vehicle radar as you are heading downhill as it is easy to lose track of speed if the road is empty. Local police tell me they give you 11 mph (up to 56) over the 45 mph limit. No break or discretion given for residency.
