The car sits on the east side of the road facing north. He waits for southbound drivers. This spot is good at night because you can’t see the car sitting on the side of the road until his lights come on.

If you are heading west on Rt.60 passing over Rt.83 there is a shopping center on the North side of Rt.60. Just past the next light (unknown name) directly in front of the exit from Home Depot there you will see an officers car sitting there facing you (oncoming traffic). They do sit there during the day but most of the time inbetween 10pm-1am. At night it’s hard to see the squad car until the last minute, so keep an eye out. My husband has been pulled over several times for just going over 5mph. The speed limit I beleive is 35mph just in that small section then it goes up to 50mph then up to 55mph.

Lake County and Mundelein police sit in the Ivanhoe Baseball field parking lot normally facing northbound waiting for traffic coming from the north. The speed drops along rt83 55, 45 and no 40 along Longmeadow Estates.
Officers also look for rolling stops entering Rt 83 from field crest.

going either east or west on 176, the police like to stay on the driveway hidden back away from the street at lincoln grammar school, if your going eastbound on 176 from the west the speed limit drops from 35mph to 30mph within a block and a half because of the school, and this where like to grab you

Hawley Avenue near Mundelein High School

There is a cop that sits in the Mundelein High School administration building on Hawley. This is a 35 mile an hour zone all the way down Hawley (I swore it was a 45 before the school). I was (rightfully) tagged at lunch time. I’m not sure if they stay there all day, but I have seen him many times between 11:30 am and 2:00 pm. Be careful down this road.
