Roselle, Illinois Speed Traps
Elgin-O’Hare Expressway near Roselle Road
The Cook County Sheriffs like to sit on the entrance ramps on Roselle Rd and catch you flying past them. You won’t have a chance to slow down unless traffic does in front of you. Best bet is to drive around 60mph here unlike the 70mph average traffic likes to move. It’s a threat in both directions. They also like to sit on the exit ramps and catch people speeding on the frontage roads from that point westward.
Roselle Road near Between Maple and Walnut Streets
Police radar is often seen on the side streets from Maple to Walnut at various times of the day. They sometimes sit in the parking lot of the funeral home just north of Bryn Mawr.
Roselle Road near Elgin O’Hare Expressway
When driving south on Roselle Road, after passing the Elgin O’Hare, there is a steep hill that goes down, and on that hill, the speed limit changes from 40 to 30. The cop can be in the gas station, or in anyone of the near residential streets.
Central Avenue near Rodenburg Road
A Roselle officer sits on the North side of Roselle Rd. just east of Rodenburg after the open field, behind an industrial building sign. Farther down the road on central, just after the post office but before Roselle Rd., another cruiser sits on the north side of Central in a business parking lot. Roselle is a small town and it needs your money. Follow all posted limits on Central Ave. I see cops often, especially on nice days when sportcars and motorcycles tend to come out.
Plum Grove Road near Elgin OHare Expressway
Police cars park in the Forest Preserve parking lot 1/2 mile south of the intersection of Plum Grove Rd which goes over the Elgin OHare expressway. They regularly monitor traffic during non rush hour traffic. More frequently at the beginning and end of the month.
