motorcycle cop over top of hill hitting on out of state plates as I was pacing an Illinois plated explorer @ 0730 on 05/10/10. People in Streater Il. said it was a common place as their training facility is near (Streater is 100 miles away)
Bruns Lane Street near North Grand West Avenue
Trap is on Bruns Lane between North Grand Ave. West and Veterans Parkway. Officer sits in Church Parking Lot, but there is no forgiveness. He sits there fairly regular.
Interstate 55 near Mile Marker 83
A patrol car sits on the overpass and reports speeders to hidden chase cars waiting on the onramp.

Woodside Road near Iron Bridge Road
Southside of Springfield. County Police often sit in the area between Old Woodside and Iron Bridge. The speed limit drops from 45 to 40 when heading east. Last seen on 9/21/07 at 1:00 p.m. but is there quite often.
Interstate 55 Southbound
Anywhere on I-55 but mostly seen on Southbound side. One State cop does the laser work and then they have a number of motorcycle cops pull you over and hand out the ticket. Interestingly I spoke to someone familiar with the county as they worked for the State Police and they mentioned that I-55 in Sangamon/Springfield is a well known trap. Also mentioned was the State Police that do the dirty deed "only" perform traffic ticket work. These cops do nothing else. It is their job to generate cash. Yep great welcome to state capitol.
