Brookside Glen Drive near 80th Avenue

Tinley Park, IllinoisNov 28, 20070 Comments

This trap is in a subdivision (Brookside Glen). Just west of 80th Ave. on Brookside Glen drive you will cross a creek. After the bridge there is a side street which veers to the right. The policeman will get you coming from either direction. The speed limit is 20 mph but you think you are in a 30 mph zone like most residential areas.

Just East of Ridgeland Ave on the south side of the street there is a cemetery. Usually at night but not limited to, squad cars sit and Radar the 35mph street.I personally have been pulled over twice here.

88th Avenue near 171st Street

Just south of 171st St., on east side of 88th Ave. is small stripmall. Police have been recently sitting in lot to deter loiterers, but also watching for speeders, as small cul-de-sac on west side of 88th Ave. is ripe for "turn around or u-turn speeders" , and cops know this.

Ridgeland Avenue near Interstate 80

Tinley Squad car sits behind some bushes just south of I-80 by the first entrance to the music theater. Even though the speed limit is 45, it’s a wide open road and he looks to pinch people as they drive by. He is well-hidden and often it’s too late before you spot him. What gets me is that if you ever call in a dead deer or a car accident they always defer it to the County, but they will be on the spot to enforce speed laws. Not much money in removing dead dear or trying to save accident victims I suppose.
