Wauconda, Illinois Speed Traps

Going north on Route 59, there is an auto repair shop called Leicht on the left side, across from Ivanhoe Road. He sits on an outer drive in the parking lot, consistently facing different directions. The speed limit goes from 50 down to 35 as you approach the bridge that goes over Route 12. He is there every day, all times of day or night.

Police car sits in the American Legion parking lot – semi-obstructed view. I didn’t get busted at this one as a kind driver coming from the opposite direction gave me a flash to let me know. Speed limit gradually eases up to 45 when travelling out of downtown Wauconda, but if you speed up that 4 blks too soon – ticket.

The officer sits in the gravel parking lot of the red 2-story building clocking either way on Fairfield. It’s the only building on the corner of Bonner & Fairfield.

Marked and Unmarked cars sit in the gravel lot on the NE corner. The speed drops from 40 to 30 at that point heading east.

Bonner Rd. between Fairfield Rd. & Old Rand Rd.(Just past the 40 M.P.H. to 30 M.P.H. in both directions… SLOW DOWN!
