Sunset Boulevard near McAree Street

Waukegan, IllinoisOct 24, 20050 Comments

This has been going on for at least a decade. Cops will either hide along the side street right across the street from a church that sits on the corner of McAree & Sunset, or they sit in the parking lot of Waukegan Foods (located next to an abandoned grassy lot). Also note that between McAree and Lewis Ave as you go east there will be cops hiding on the small side streets on the north side of Sunset.

Greenbay Road near Grand Avenue

Waukegan, IllinoisJun 10, 20050 Comments

There is a road block with about 20 cops & 20 tow trucks waiting for the next victim. They sit at the bank of Waukegan there on the corner of Grand and Greenbay, and they pull people over for no reason at all. They are looking for drivers without insurance, DUIs and warrants. So beware.

Greenbay Road near 10th Street

Waukegan, IllinoisMay 17, 20050 Comments

The landscaping company driveway just west of the light has three cruisers lined up right behind one another. As one sees a car deemed speeding, it shoots out to catch the individual. The unsuspecting following traffic (just north of the light as it travels southbound), thus seeing the cop car lights ahead, falls victim to the well hidden cruisers 2 and 3. It is not uncommon to see as many as three cars pulled over one right after another with the three cruisers behind them – at the same time. The scene then looks like this: car and cruiser, 50 feet, car and cruiser, 50 feet, car and cruiser then traffic light – all at once.

Route 41 North and South under Route 120 Bridge

Waukegan, IllinoisSep 08, 20030 Comments

Mainly one or two officers will sit under the bridge and mainly shoot the South bound traffic, but they are known the shoot the North bound as well. As you pass the Waukegan road/Route 43 exit continuing on 41 South, they nail you as you come around the curve. Theres construction on the bridge there now (9/8/2003), but theres no reduced speed limit for it. Speed limit is 55mph too. Theres marked and unmarked squad cars that do this as well.
