Waukegan, Illinois Speed Traps

He’s watching you! I’ve seen him here and there all along that stretch. Most of the time he hides on the west side behind a good size bankment with bushes hidding him from south bound traffic, while at the same time a privacy fence hidding him from the North bound traffic. He has a few good spots picked out but it’s almost always on the west side of the road.

I have noticed a cop there the last week.

As many as three squad cars lurk on Highway 41 in the area of Waukegan west of North Chicago. They speed limit unnecessary drops there. I used to watch in disgust as they would pull over people trying to get to work and travelling at normal highway speeds.

I drive this road every day and every time I see a cruiser hidden behind a bush, in a private driveway, on a sidewalk, anything to hide and nail you. The speed limit is 30, but the road is 2 lanes in each direction with a wide center stripe, so at 40 you feel like you are crawling. If you are on this road, dont speed as they will nail you.
