Right before the toll booth, when it switches from 70 to 45.. First off let me say this, I was speeding; I understand this is breaking the law when I received the ticket.. This wasn’t the issue, the issue was with the Fremont Court. I tried to pay the ticket the following day, the woman over the phone told me she hasn’t received the information yet, ok. I waited a week to check back in, you can’t pay the ticket over the phone, you can’t pay the ticket via the internet. I’ve never received a ticket anywhere where I couldn’t pay the ticket via the phone, or internet. I mailed them a check- which was returned with a rude note saying they don’t accept personal checks and charged me and extra $10 fee.. I called and spoke w another woman over the phone who had a nasty attitude, she then hung up on me because I asked why it’s such a hassle to pay a simple speeding ticket. I then went out of my way to get a money order, and mailed it in with a note explaining the ridiculousness of payment options. It’s 2014, and they won’t accept payments any other way except a money order. I understand I was speeding and I’m ultimately the one responsible for this ticket, but the attitude and inconvenience of delayed technology is absurd and tacky. I will avoid ever having to travel through this ratchet town again. Worst experience with any courthouse I’ve ever encountered! Try to avoid this town if you can!

Just paid a ticket, and was informed by the court that they process 15,000 speed tickets a year, therefore they do not send out a reminder to pay ticket. They will contact your state and request suspension of your license. Oh, and your ticket doubles…

15,000 tickets a year for a town of 2000 pop.? Not bad. Last time visiting Fremont for me. Alas.

The 70mph interstate speed limit abruptly goes to 45mph as the toll gate is neared……….exactly where the State Police sit with radar. Truckers on ch19 reported on 6/3/10 they had been in that location for 3 weeks writing tickets.

County Trunk 827 near State Highway 120

All state highways and county roads leading into Fremont have 35 MPH limits set well out into the open country. Watch for police as you approach on 827 from Angola from the factories to the cemetary. Clear Lake Road from the boonies to the city limit is another good one. The local cop has so many choices you never know where he’ll be.
