Terre Haute, Indiana Speed Traps
Officer hides between business from locust to maple writing ticket after ticket the overpass keeps the driver from being able to see the police hiding. Keep the limit or your paying $100 fine and losing 20- 30 minutes of your time.
There is a speed radar before you get to the 30mph and it clocks your speed. Not sure if it take your picture but i know it clocks your mph.
Highway curves slightly to the northwest/south as you pass under the overpasses and crests a slight hill just before/after the overpasses . State trooper or county sheriff’s deputy sits behind the center support pier for the north bound Indiana 641 bridge facing south. Police car can be seen as you round the curve from the north at the stop light with Jessica Drive allowing you to slow down (speed limit is 50 mph.) But approaching form the south your going uphill and can’t see the car till you crest the hill but by then it’s too late (you have no idea car is there till the hill is crested). Northbound speed limit is also 50 mph. Radar is usually in use.
Going south on US 41 the speed limit goes from 40 to 30 just north of the RR overpass. AS you go over the overpass it is difficult to keep it under 30 and there is often police sitting on the side street at the bottom of the overpass. Particularly during morning rush.
State police in median along the strecth of road where the east and west bound lanes are separated by wooded areas. I have seen this a number of times while traveling back and forth to Indy.
