I just received, you guessed it, a “Notice of Violation” for travelling 67 in a 55 on 5/30/2014. I was travelling from South Dakota to Chicago. Usually I take I90 but there is some construction I was trying to avoid in Illinois around the Rockford area and into Chicago. I’d love to go back to Cedar Rapids and look at this stretch of road and understand where signs are posted etc. Also, how can everyone seem to get the same speed issued? Sounds to me that there is a problem with their radar or laser gun they are using. Very suspicious to me.

Received NOTICE OF VIOLATION for going 67 in a 55 . Went to Minneapolis, MN. Returned home on 05/10/2014, it was generated on 06/02/2014.I am a safe driver and always use the cruise control. I was by myself and know that I was watching my speed. Funny that after reading others they were all clocked going 67 in a 55 ??? Really? I will need to pay the ticket but I know that it isn’t right but what else can anyone do ? I don’t want to pay them my hard errand money of $75.00 . This has to be a speed trap for the city to make money. Drivers beware.

Big Brother has moved from the East and West Coasts to the Heartland. I was driving at 6 a.m. using Cruise Control and heading for Minneapolis. Three weeks later I received a postcard saying a camera had photographed me doing 67 MPH in a 55 MPH section of the Interstate. Really? A still camera? No video? Scary. I’m paying only to protect my credit report. Beware.

Like almost everyone else, I was cited for “67 in a 55”. I often stay in Cedar Rapids on business and have spent a fair amount of money there in recent years… but never again, not one dime will I give to this greedy town. Incidentally, the city of Cedar Rapids does not maintain I-380 and it is doubtful that they write accident reports on it because it is state jurisdiction.

Just received a violation notice on this apparently infamous speed trap stating that I was doing 67 in a posted 55. Funny – that’s exactly what everyone else states they received so EVERYONE is doing 67???? I highly doubt it. That is the acceleration ramp to enter the flow of traffic on I380 and I know for a fact that I’ve never been above 60 because I use the cruise control due to the camera postings. Even retired cops think this is abuse of power and a money scam. Perhaps the city should be more fiscally responsible with all the money they do receive instead of a way to get even more
