Brunswick, Maine Speed Traps
On the Atlantic Highway between Bath and Brunswick
They sit in any of the emergency turnoffs, most likely early morning commute.
Main Street near Pleasant Street
The area of downtown Brunswick near a tavern called Joshua’s is a known trap. They will stop you if you are speeding or NOT if you come out of this tavern and make you take a breathilizer test. BEWARE!
State Route 1 near Plesant Street
Town PD sets up Radar spotter near the Mobile Station for northbound traffic. This street is the transition from I-295 to Rt-1. This street is heavely traveled by tourists heading up the Maine coast.
Interstate 295 near Mile Marker 26
State police sit in the southbound breakdown lane at approximately mile marker 26 located on a curve to the right going uphill. They apparently use instant on radar. The moment your radar detector goes off (when you are first able to see them), they have already clocked you!
US Highway 1
North bound on US Rt 1 entering Brunswick, the speed limit drastically drops to 35mph, just as the gas stations are visable on the right, local police sit either at the first gas station on the right or in the median next to the bushes on the leFort They are there anytime of the day or night but espically at night with their lights off. Too many people have been nailed their because at 35mph it feels like a crawl, espically after driving 65mph on the interstate.
