Skowhegan, Maine Speed Traps
Middle Road Route 104 Animal Shelter
The cops like to sit in a small nook on the side of the road opposite of the animal shelter looking northbound.
Middle Road State Route 104
Location is about 2 miles south of town, just past the radio station tower. The cops use both entrances to the Yankee Heights development on this straight section of road, posted speed limit is 45 mph.
One mile out of town on U.S. Hwy. 201 South (Waterville Road)
Heading south, going up hill with 3 lane traffic just before Skowhegan Drive-In Movie Theater. Speed is 30 MPH, police are at top of hill. Road is built for 40 MPH and most people go 40 or faster.
North Ave & Adams St
north ave is HIGHWAY ROUTE 150! The road is wide, there are sidewalks on both sides—its a HIGHWAY ROAD the speed limit is unreasonably at 25mph on a road designed to go 50mph safety tough to run a business in this town when the coppers r always hassling my customers. I have a business in the area.
Norridgewock Road near Near Chase Library
The 2 mile stretch of roadway: Pleasant street that turns into Norridewock road in Skowhegan is a speed trap.
The speed limit is unreasonably marked at 25mph. Unreasonable because one can easily be going 45mph as there is never any pedestrian traffic, homes along the road are well away from the roadway and the road ‘feels’ safe to travel more than 25mph. Also anyone who follows town meetings knows local residents are always badgering the police to stop vehicles. This is likely the biggest speed trap in Skowhegan.
