Abingdon, Maryland Speed Traps
the Maryland state police park on highway 40 facing westbound lanes using radar. On my way toward the 7 eleven the police cruiser is backed in on a dirt drive way. You will not see him until it is too late. I think the speed limit is 55 in the area. I was just driving by and seen this on my way. Today is November 13, 2015, Always remember that highway 40 uses speedtraps in Belcamp, Abington, and Aberdeen. This is Harford county. Slow Down. Don’t lose money around here.
usually hidden patrol auto and officer crouched with a radergun.. he swivels akwardly at timesto record autos in both directions they have been there in groups of three (or is that a crowd?) with an unmarked suv on the steet and two officers doing the leg work
State Trooper Vehicles-unmarked SUVs and Cars are sitting on the shoulder of the road with HOOD AND TRUNK open. Troopers hidden behind on back passenger side of vehicle with radar.
The state trooper lives right near here and works it about twice a month. I’ve gotton caught on Sunday morning. I’ve seen him there on a Tuesday night around 5. It’s a big money maker since there are big hills in either direction and you have to BRAKE in order to do the 30 mph speed limit.
A new resturant has opened on Rt 40 across from the 7-Eleven at Long Bar Harbor Road, police like to sit in their parking lot against the trees and set radar for drivers coming from Rt 543, Aberdeen to Edgewood, it is a nice stretch of road and if the sun is shining in your eyes it will be hard to see them sitting in the shady area of the parking lot.
(Rt. 40 towards Edgewood)
