Baltimore National Route 40 Turnpike

Ellicott City, MarylandSep 01, 20080 Comments

Heading on Route 40 West after you cross the patapsco state park bridge entering Howard county you will see a Browns Motel. Route 40 dips down right after you pass the motel to your right and on the bottom of the hill in the middle lane are two cops 80% of the time, one facing East one facing West to catch people going either way. Their clock is aimed at the top of the hill so even if you use the excuse the downhill slope increased your speed will not work. If not in the middle U-turn lane they will be on the right in the Gas station. The entrance to the gas station is covered by trees so you wont see them until you pass the entrance by which time you are already clocked. All the usual drivers brake right when they pass the motel which is the best way to preven the ticket when heading on Baltimore national pike (route 40) heading west.
