Ellicott City, Maryland Speed Traps
Route 100 heading westbound
just past I-95 heading towards route 29 there is a spot on the right where they sit at night, with a radar gun.
All along Rte 40 at night
Cops drive a dark green 2008 Honda Accord coupe with blacked out windows and a body kit. If you have a fast looking or modified car they will pull up next to you at one of the stop lights between 70 and the Baltimore County line and rev their engine to try to get you to race, and when you do… they pounce.
Folly Quarter Road Between Carroll Mill Road and the circle
County police will set up on the east side of Folly Quarter Road – their position somewhat hidden by swells in the road – typically shooting north to catch motorists coming down the long incline – but, occasionally shooting south, as well. Traveling south on Folly Quarter from Rt 144, the speed limit begins at 45, but drops to 35 prior to Carroll Mill Road – and, that speed is difficult to maintain on the incline without careful attention.
rt29 between 108 and Montgomery road
A cop sits on the shoulder after 10 at night. It looks like a broken down car on the side of the road. This is mostly going south but also north too.
Bethany lane between Rt.US 40 and St.Rt 99.
Officers will set in front of or across from the Bethany Methodist Church pointing their radar guns in either directions, but usually toward the north’ watching for speeders coming across the I 70 bridge. Also across from Ellicott City Motor Sports watching for speeders coming down the small incline.
