Wellesley, Massachusetts Speed Traps
State Highway 16 near Kingsbury Street
On Route 16 (Washington Street) westbound, between and Wellesley Center. Police use a black pickup truck, parked on the north side of the street in the lot just east of the Mobil station or on the south side in the parking lot for the tennis courts adjacent to Hunnewell Field. Chase cars (marked police Fords but without exterior light bars on the roof) wait down the street to the west in one of the driveways for the Oldsmobile dealer.
The speed limit is 30 MPH but traffic averages 45-50 MPH. Enforcement is heaviest on Friday and Saturday nights after about 8:00 PM.
State Route 9 East near KO Dodge
Cops use Lidar and Radar; all times; mainly late evening hours and early weekend am hrs; usually zero tolerance. Speed limit is posted 50 mph (they hide in car dealership parking lot)
Walnut Street
The old time officer just sits there after he is done with his traffic duties in other places in the falls, and nabs people for speeding.
