Wellesley, Massachusetts Speed Traps
Route 9W, on the incoming ramp just before the Wellesley Office park
I have spotted a cop parked right on the ramp that joins into Route 9W, just before the Wellesley Office Park. The ramp is hidden from view and the road has a downward slope, with a 45 MPH speed limit making it an easy trap.
Rte. 9 east, approx. 1 mile east of 128 (95)
Very desperate hours of operation (often between 11 and 6am), police sit either in driveway of water treatment plant or hide in the Motorquest auto dealership-shades of American Graffitti!-1/4 mile further down. Traps are almost exclusively route nine EAST (see also Wellesley route nine WEST-at rte. 16).
State Highway Route 9 at rte 16 junction (and fire station)
Wellesley police park in front of fire/DPW station, for speed and traffic light enforcement. A "speed education device"-radar sign is a tell tale electronic scarecrow, usually placed west or east of the intersection for about 2-3 weeks total..then, when the radar sign is removed, the police take over for a couple weeks more.
