Ann Arbor, Michigan Speed Traps
Washtenaw Avenue near Ferdon & Vinewood Roads
Passing across Washtenaw from Ferdon to Vinewood or visa versa ok, but lefts from Washtenaw prohibited — not logical — turns from Washtenaw have good visibility but allowed crossing dangerous due to lack of visibility, but allowed.
Eisenhower Parkway near State Street
Eisenhower & State is patrolled by University Police due to one UM building on corner. They like to ticket U-turns from first U-turn island west of State on Eisenhower — there are three U-turn islands in a row, but first one has posted no U-turn and is frequently missed and ticketed.
State Street near Fuller Street
Recently place left turn prohibition from State to Fuller targeted
Wells Street near Prospect Street
Five point stop at Wells and Prospect and several other stops around same area on Wells are popular traps for sliding stops. Same officer likes this area about every three months in the morning.
Plymouth Road near Jones Drive
Police frequently sit either on Jones, or more commonly in the parking lots of one of the apartment complexes along the east/south side of Plymouth between Broadway and Jones. As in several other locations, this is poor practice by the AA cops to run speed traps from private properties. The speed limit along this stretch of Plymouth is 35, extremely underposted with four lanes and ZERO private access points–no residences or business at all.
