Portland, Michigan Speed Traps
The recent reduction of the speed limit on southbound traffic coming into Portland is an obvious trap. 55 -> 35 and it’s as you come over a hill too. Portland city police hide on the east side of the road facing south. Seems to be most occupied in the early morning.
barney fife sits in the weeds on the west side of the road here waiting for you to go above 25mph even though the roads leaves town and opens up and cornfields are around. this should be posted at 35-45 before it hits 50 up ahead.
entering Portland from the east on grand river, barney fife likes to sit in the old legion/now EPIC church lot on the west side of the road.speed drops from 55 to 35.
I was coming in to town on charlote hwy around 8 to 9 pm on a saterday night and just as you come over the hill that is right before cuttler road their is a portland police car parked the drive way of the new water tower that is next to the i 96 overpass.
Officer sits on Cutler Rd and catches drivers going eastbound with his lasar in this selective enforcement zone. Remaining officers, usually MSP are situated around the corner on the side of I-96. I saw 8 cars pulled over at 1 time along this section last fall. See the zone set-up about once a month or so.
