Rochester Hills, Michigan Speed Traps
Walton Boulevard near Nevada Street
Oakland County Sheriff car sits on Nevada just a couple houses off Walton with radar locked and loaded. He’s there almost every morning at 7:30. I live on Texas, and smile at him and wave each day as I pass by on my way to work.
State Highway M59 East near Crooks Road
Oakland Sheriff cars are by the midian wall right after the curve down towards Crooks Rd. (passing the Adams exit) with radar and laser gun. I was caught there once. That a pure trap in a perfect sefe stretch of highway. The cars are not visible by eastbound traffic because of the curve slightly to the left, the pavement downwards inclination and midian wall height. When you see them it is too late.
Old Perch Road near Between Avon and University Road
Old Perch is a throughway. The police sit on all the side streets and church parking lot hidden. The speed limit is 35.
Sheldon Road near Tienken Circle
There is always a cop hiding on Sheldon road near Stoneycreek High School. Entering Sheldon road from Tienken road traffic circle the speed immediately drops to 25 mph. There is just no room to slow down. So watch your speed as you come out of the traffic circle. Hit the brakes to reduce spped to 25 mph. Do the same as you enter the school area coming from south side of Sheldon road. Last week the whole area was infested with cops giving tickets to everybody even if you were 1 mile over the speed limit. I lower my speed to 20 mph to be safe.
Dirt Road near Dutton Street
OCS sits on the northbound side of Dutton facing West just west of Brewster Road (maybe 250′). This is at a point where if travelling westbound Dutton the speed limit drops from 35mph to 25mph as you come upon the dirt road and proceed down the hill. Very hard to decelerate to 25mph in a decline at this spot and you are usually past the point of where the OCS cars sit when you slow doen to anywhere near 25mph. They like this spot because they can get people going westbound coming off the paved road, and they also can get the eastbound traffic as it crests the hill near the subdivision entrance to the north.
