HWY 100 and I-494

Bloomington, MinnesotaMar 24, 20120 Comments

Two to three Bloomington/Edina officers hide in the shadow of the overpass and catch those going South as 100 turns into Normandale Blvd. Drivers are distracted by merging traffic from 494 Merging traffic has to excelerate onto 100 South, immediately the speed limit falls to 45 by time you notice the signs it is already to late. Great $$$ maker. Beware!

98th St and Xerxes Ave S (Sunday Morning)

East bound 98th just after speed limit drops to 35 unwary drivers are ticketed by tandum cars w/gun. Often seen stopping those late for church Sunday 10:00AM. Officers justify staffing by looking necessary when turning in paperwork Monday morning. Insiders know one of $$$ making directives per the mayor. Suppose it beats more taxes. Suggest staying home & watch a TV evangelist as most alternate routes west to east are used as traps as well.

3+ police pulling over drivers, usually sitting on side roads off of Old Shakopee

Old Shakopee Road and Penn Ave

Usually the cop sits on the south side of Old Shakopee in the construction parking lot of the NIne Mile Creek Senior Apartment building. They park behind a row of hedges next to the first house and get cars traveling towards Penn after crossing over Nine Mile creek. They have been there both night and day.

1 block west of Old Shakopee Road & Old Cedar Avenue S.

Typically at least once a month, they set up a big trap there, very extensive, at least 5 police cars and one spotter. Typically starts about 7:00 a.m., as they catch people racing through the stop-light and with the curve approaching it’s tough to see them, they are always on the right hand side.
