Bloomington, Minnesota Speed Traps
entire state
police are sometimes going old school using a stop watch to time your speed between 2 known spots
we moved here in 1972 and my family never got a ticket.
I have seen places like Bloomington (mostly just west of cedar on 98 st / old Shakopee rd. ) were the police have 6 cars parked off a side street and a police officer hiding a block ahead with a radar gun at rush hour ( mostly morning rush hour when people are going to work) pulling people over left and right.
All these road pirates have to do is park a decommissioned squad car with a mannequin in uniform in plane site.
It was tried a few years ago and worked wonderfully, Although it did not generate any money for the police so it was scrubbed.
100th and Bloomington Fwy W
Multiple cop cars, cops standing at corner on 100th and Bloomington Fwy W with a tripod with speed monitor pulling people over.
Bush Lake Rd at Dawn Valley Memorial Park
Cop has speed gun on tripod and five other units close by. Some are in the entrance to High Lake Park others south of speed trap.
Nine mile creek
Nine Mile Creek is a back road that leads to W 90th street, they usually park on a side road that people can pull into. & you don’t see them until you loop right and look passed the tree covering them
82nd going west toward Penn Avenue
Radar gun…hiding behind tree, as expected, during everyone’s morning work commute–usually every other month. Bloomington at its finest. Seems like there should be more important issues..but I guess those issues don’t generate enough $$$,
