Portland South Avenue near SouthCross Drive

Burnsville, MinnesotaMar 29, 20040 Comments

This avenue has a reduced speed limit south from Southcross to Freeway 35 (to 30 from 35 m.p.h.)with a curve REMOVED and a STOP SIGN added to apparently discourage use as a shortcut to Freeway 35 southbound Not only is the avenue under patrol, the stop sign is monitored from a out-of-view location routinely. The change from a "curved avenue to a square corner, with stop sign" was protested by some local residents and the MN DoT to no avail and reportedly over $400,000 was expended.

35W North & South crossing the bridge to Bloomington

Burnsville, MinnesotaOct 23, 20030 Comments

Everyday for the past week or two on my way to work I see someone pulled over here by the same car. It’s an unmarked car that’s very light blue. I even saw a big unmarked SUV that had someone pulled over here. I think it was an Expidition. BVPD has got some new unmarked cars that do not look like any of their other unmarked cars. With these new looks it’s harder for most people to identify the car as a police car. In the state that our economy is prices seem to go up everywhere. This has effected the police and I think the answer is "More Tickets". These cars are new and someone has to pay for them. They need to justify the purchase of these new vehicles and they hope to make a profit from them. They are heavily preying on rush hour traffic, especially AM traffic going north bound. It’s not just speed that they are looking for either; they are looking for any reason to pull you over.

Galtier Drive and Highway 13

You are either going northbound or southbound along Highway 13. You can’t see the squad car (usually an unmarked, dark-gray Ford Crown Victoria) until it’s too late. The squad car hides around the corner where you can’t see it. Be sure to obey the speed limit in this area, which is 50 MPH.

35W North @ Cliff Rd and Black Dog Rd

Burnsville, MinnesotaJul 24, 20030 Comments

They will try to catch you going North bound. They sit in the Car pool lane @ Cliff, right by Nantin Auto Sales. Also, at Black Dog Road on the ramp. Usually I see one shooting w/ the radar and one doing the pull over.
