Saint Joseph, Missouri Speed Traps
Houchman Park/Ballfield (Pickett Rd.)
There is a police car sitting here almost all of the time. It’s right at the bottom of a little valley on this road.
S. 22nd just North of I-229
There’s a pullout into a field at the West side of S. 22nd and N. Pass/11th Street Road. St. Joseph’s finest caught me from there going 47 mph Northbound last Spring (posted 35 mph, which is artificially slow).
Belt Hwy. between Faraon and Sherman Ave.
The speed limit drops to 35 mph in this area, there are plenty of driveways for police to sit in on either side of the highway and they do.
Along Hyde Park
Watch out for cops first thing in the morning and when school gets out I see at least one person pulled over in the "new" school zone every day.
Frederick Blvd from North Belt to Noyes
There are several empty office parking lots in this area, and it’s pretty much given that at some point throughout the day there will be a cop parked in one of them, especially because the trees hide them so well. I make it a habit to NEVER go over 40 on Frederick in this stretch..to a point of having my foot on the brake through most of it. At night, especially on weekends, however, this extends down to downtown area too, because there are so many bars down Frederick starting at about 22nd St.
