Reno, Nevada Speed Traps
Lakeside drive at Windy Hill
Motorcycle cops from washoe county sheriffs hide at curve, nabbing northbound drivers right as the speed limit changes from 35 to 25, usually at lunchtime.
West Fourth Street between McCarren and Keystone
A motorcycle cop is generally posted along this stretch of road from mid-morning till some time around 2 PM or so; I’ve personally never seen them around after that. They park west bound just beyond the Crystal Ice House in an access driveway to a trailer park, and east bound near a parking area nearby the Eagle Window and Door Company building.
Between McCarran and Keystone, the speed limit is 45, but changes to 35 just before the Stoker Ave traffic light. The east bound speed sign is periodically obscured by shrubbery.
Mae Anne Avenue
If you’re going Eastbound from Avenida de Landa, there are often cops in the entrance to the apartment complex near Ambassador behind the shrubs. They’ll get you before you can see them because they use their radar guns between the bushes.
If you’re going Westbound from Ambassador, there are often cops in the entrance to the church near Avenida de Landa. They too are hidden by shrubs and will get you before you’re clearly visible.
Mc Carren & Caughlin parkway proceeding to,
the 3 way intersection at, Skyline. There is a motorcycle cop, who hides on the right hand side on a rather hidden road. It is very easy to accelerate down the hill. Speed trap!
