Sparks, Nevada Speed Traps

Traveling a short distance east on Lincoln past Howard, there is a sign for 20mph (where the cop sits) and within a few feet is another sign for 25 mph. I slowed down to 25 and was ticked for speeding.

This speed trap is located just east of Truckee Meadows Community College on Dandini Blvd just before you get to Clear Acre Drive. This section of road is a very steep hill with a downhill grade of about 20% and a posted speed limit of just 35 mph. A motorcycle sheriff officer often waits at the bottom of this long steep hill and gives out speeding tickets using his radar gun. You’ll have to ride your brakes hard all the way down this steep hill to avoid getting this speeding ticket.
