Easton Turnpike (28)

Bridgewater, New JerseyMar 26, 20090 Comments

After a pedestrian-related accident, the speed limit in this area was lowered to a crawling 25 mph. It is clearly marked, but it is extremely easy to surpass that coming into the little town of Long Branch. The police love to sit next to the bridge (you can’t see them until it’s too late) and wait for people to blow through. Even 5mph over and you will get booked. Definitely watch it here. ***Ironically, the cop in question is actually in the google maps picture.*** 🙂

Newmans Lane near Washington Valley Road

They hide in the parking lot of the Washington Valley Park and wait. Its along a very steep road with a 35 MPH limit, which is very hard to maintain even while laying on the brakes. No street lights in the area so you cant see in the parking lot after dark until your passing it. and watch out for Officer Cooper, he hates everyone

State Highway 202 South near Strip Mall

Bridgewater, New JerseyNov 03, 20070 Comments

As vehicles come from either 287 S or get off of 22 either direction to get on to 202 S near the Somerville Circle they must split from the circle and go up over the bridge to locate themselves directly on 202 S. The speed limit on the bridge is 45mph but the flow of traffic is more like 55 or 60. The police position themselves on the right Behind the Harmon Drug store which is the store located farthest to the left of the strip mall located at the bottom of the bridge. Here they have easy access onto 202 S to catch speeders who have accelerated to climb the bridge and are now usually over 45 coming down off the bridge. Motorist can’t see them behind the drug store until they reach the bottom of the ramp when it’s usually too late!
